Phillip Mincher – Owner

Phillip Mincher started Mission Workplace in 2020 to support employers with training, policy development and regulatory compliance. Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Phillip has extensive experience in management and law enforcement. Between 1998 and 2005, Phillip was a Police Officer and Police Sergeant with the North Yorkshire Police in the United Kingdom. He has worked on criminal cases at all levels, involving, scene containment, evidence gathering and witness and suspect interviewing procedures. Spending two years as a Custody Sergeant, he monitored the detention, search, interrogation and charging of detained persons.
After moving to Canada is 2005, Phillip worked as an Executive Manager with the Hudson Bay Company. During this time, he led a multi million-dollar portfolio, including the commission business and over 50 employees of the Calgary downtown store. In this role, Phillip managed financial budgets, recruitment, performance management, employee engagement and vendor relationships.
Phillip spent twelve years (2007 – 2019) with the Alberta Government, Ministry of Labour with both Employment Standards and Occupational Health and Safety. During this time, he conducted Employment Standards Investigations, Inspections and Audits. He then went on to lead the Temporary Foreign Worker Program and Special Investigations Unit. In 2015, Phillip joined Occupational Health and Safety as the Manager of Investigations, responsible for overseeing the investigations of workplace fatalities and serious incidents. As part of this role he worked with the Calgary Police Service on the protocols for criminal investigations of occupational incidents under the Bill C-45 Westray provisions. He led the implementation of Bill 30, An Act to Protect the Health and Well-being of Working Albertans.
